My husband and I headed to the doctor that afternoon with a cloud over us. I wanted to take the boys because they had an early release day.I called my son earlier in the day to tell him I would pick them up. He didn't know where I was going but said he wanted to stay home. When I got frustrated with him he asked where I was going. I told him to the doctor. He knew I had seen the doctor earlier but never asked why until I got home. At that time I told him the truth because he asked and he is 11.
On this day I told him I had to go back to the doctor and that I would be there to get him in a bit. I hung up and stepped into a classroom. Within minutes he was texting me. Curious as to where I was going. This was followed up by a hysterical phone calls asking if I had cancer. I calmed him down and told him he didn't have to go. When I hung up I called my neighbor and asked her to go to my house and give him a hug.
When my husband and I arrived we walked past that door again the one that said cancer on it, and into the doctor's office. We were taken quickly to a room and within minutes the Breast Guy came in. He opened the door wide and said, "Pathology is back, no cancer!"
The rest of the appointment was a blur except when he said get the genetic testing done. The cloud lifted and I left cancer free!
